What we do
A brief glimpse into Samudra to grasp what we do, how we do it, and why it matters.
Seaweed is a multifaceted solution with numerous climate-related benefits
The expansion and automation of seaweed farming offer a wide range of climate-related advantages. It aids in carbon absorption, reduces ocean acidification, fosters biodiversity, enhances water quality, provides sustainable food and product options, holds promise for renewable energy generation, and plays a role in blue carbon ecosystems. As the planet seeks effective strategies to address climate change, scaling up seaweed production stands out as a viable and sustainable answer.
Visit our website below to discover more about Samudra’s worldwide seaweed carbon capture initiatives.
Captures Carbon
Seaweed absorbs carbon dioxide up to 20x faster than terrestrial forests. As it grows, it locks away CO₂ from the atmosphere, making it a powerful nature-based solution for climate change.
Uplifts Coastal Livelihood
Seaweed cultivation creates jobs, supports small-scale fishers, and fosters economic resilience in coastal communities, especially in regions facing climate and livelihood stress.

Support Biodiversity
Seaweed farms create underwater forests that provide shelter and breeding grounds for fish, shellfish, and marine species—reviving degraded ecosystems and supporting ocean health.
Sustainable Biomass
Rich in nutrients, seaweed is used in human food, animal feed, and natural fertilisers. It grows without freshwater, fertilisers, or arable land—making it one of the most sustainable crops on Earth.

Our Milestones Through the Years
Explore the evolution of the Citizen Carbon Offset Program. From our humble beginnings to our current impact, each milestone tells a story.

2022
Samudra Incorporated
Samudra began its journey with Carbon13, an accelerator for climate-focused venture builders. Carbon13 provided funding for Samudra during their pre-seed round.
2023
Samudra Robotics
Samudra built and deployed the smart farm robotics to monitor seaweed farms in various parts of the UK (Cornwall, Norfolk) and tested in Jamaica

2024
Marine Farm Operations - Scotland
Samudra has captured 4 tonnes of carbon by cultivating 40 tonnes of seaweed (marine vegetables) through the use of advanced farming robotics and AI technology.
2025
Citizen Carbon Offset Launched
Our program has successfully offset thousands of tonnes of carbon. We continue to innovate and inspire sustainable living.
